Rise and Shine Business Breakfast Series presents: “Avoiding Hand Injuries in the Workplace” with Dr. Michael Paxten.
Bio:
Dr. Michael Paxten grew up in Roswell, Georgia. He graduated suma cum laude from the Georgia Institute of Technology in biomedical engineering.
He earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and went to complete his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
After finishing residency, Dr. Paxten moved to Birmingham, Alabama, to specialize further in surgery of the hand and upper extremity. He completed a Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham.
Dr. Paxten focuses on diagnosing and treating all problems related to the different structures in the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow. Common problems that he treats consist of carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, cubital tunnel syndrome, wrist pain, arthritis, tennis elbow, fractures, and nerve and tendon injuries.
Dr. Paxten and his wife Dawn reside in Rome, Georgia with their three children, Madison, Triston and Blakely.
